COVID 19 Update

November 5th, 2020

With Lockdown 2 coming into force, we are confident that we can continue to offer our normal levels of service and support to our customers, despite the additional challenges that COVID19 presents. As a supplier to both the Healthcare and Construction Industries, we are following Government guidelines to keep our trade shop and warehouse fully open. 

We continue to implement the additional protocols listed below for cleanliness and social distancing.

If you are ordering online, delivery times are approximately inline with our normal guidelines of 3-4 days for free delivery and 1-2 days for upgraded courier service.

If you are ordering for collection, we ask that you order in advance (by phone, email, or on our website) if at all possible. We can only allow 2 customers in the trade shop at any one time to maintain social distancing, and so this can lead to additional wait times. 

Deliveries using our own van to local customers continue as normal.

July 6th, 2020

We are back up and running with a full complement of staff. Orders placed online will ship as normal in 3-4 days and you can upgrade this when checking out. Next day delivery is possible for orders placed before 2pm, although please bear in mind, that we use UPS and they are advising that they cannot guarantee next day as normal. We estimate that 75% of deliveries are currently arriving on time.

We are also open for collections from 7.30am to 5pm Mon-Fri and from 9-12pm on Saturday mornings. Please email your orders in advance to speed the process up.

We have implemented social distancing measures on our trade counter, including a one way system through our shop, and a limit of 2 customers in store at any one time. Please be patient when collecting goods and adhere to the now normal social distancing requirements. If you have any questions, please give us a call. 

March 31, 2020

As a supplier to the Healthcare and other essential sectors, we intend to remain open, however from the beginning of April, we will be operating with a skeleton staff only. The majority of our sales, accounts, warehouse and logistics staff are going on Furlough from April 1st.

As a result, we ask for your patience in dealing with enquiries. If you can, please send enquiries and orders to sales@ukfixings.net. We are still open for collections, although these may take a time to process, so we will let you know once the order is ready to collect.

National deliveries will still take place using our regular courier UPS. Local deliveries can only be undertaken in exceptional circumstances.

We will continue to review the situation on a daily basis and actively communicate as much as possible. Despite the additional challenges that COVID 19 presents, we want to reassure all our customers and suppliers that, as much as we possibly can, it’s still business as usual at UK Fixings Ltd.

March 24th, 2020

After the Governments announcement about increased isolation, UK Fixings Ltd will continue to operate with modified procedures. As a supplier to the Healthcare and Logistics sectors, both vital services at this time, we want to help maintain our services as much as possible but have implemented extra procedures to maintain social distancing wherever possible.

  • – We are open for collections and deliveries.
  • – Wherever possible, please email orders to sales@ukfixings.net in advance.
  • – Phone orders are fine but we are operating with a skeleton staff, so please be patient.
  • – We are still operating our own van for local deliveries and UPS courier services for national deliveries.
  • – For orders under £100 or if you need it today, you can collect but we will need time to prepare your order.

For collections, we have increased Social Distancing measures at our Trade Counter.

  • – We are limiting access on a 1 in, 1 out basis.
  • – When arriving, please wait in the lobby and ring the bell
  • – If someone is already in our lobby, please wait outside and always maintain 2m social distancing with all those around you.

For deliveries, please ring the bell at the Goods Inwards entrance and wait for someone to come, and always maintain 2m social distancing with all those around you

Whilst continuing to operate our essential services, we want to ‘do our bit’ to curb the spread of COVID-19 and we ask all our customers and suppliers for their help, patience and understanding at this time

As the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the UK continues to rise, it is important that we keep our customers and suppliers abreast of all the measures we are taking at UK Fixings Ltd.

Our first priority is the health and wellbeing of our customers and staff. To this end, along with all our normal health and safety procedures, we have additionally implemented the following precautionary measures:

  • – We have enhanced the frequency and scope of our onsite cleanliness measures to include twice daily disinfection of all high touch points around our office and warehouse
  • – We have increased availability of soap for additional hand washing
  • – We have provided Anti-bacterial wipes at numerous locations around our warehouse, to encourage additional hand cleansing and surface disinfection 
  • – All of our employees are following National Health England advice to stay home if they’re feeling unwell
  • – Our Key Account Managers are equipped to work from home if necessary

We will continue to review the situation on a daily basis and actively communicate as much as possible. Despite the additional challenges that COVID 19 presents, we want to reassure all our customers and suppliers that it’s business as usual at UK Fixings Ltd.
